CHROMEBOOK TROUBLESHOOTING

Chromebook won't turn on
  1. Plug it in with its charger and wait a minute for it to get some juice.
  2. Press and hold the Power and Refresh keys at the same time for a couple seconds. (The Refresh key is the little circular arrow above the '4'.)
  3. Release the keys at the same time.
  4. Wait about 30 seconds and it should begin to boot up.
If it doesn't boot up, wait a minute and try the above procedure again. If it still doesn't reboot after 2-3 tries, bring the Chromebook to the library.

WiFi won't connect / Login isn't working
  1. Sign out of the Chromebook completely.
    • Make sure to "Remove account" by clicking the down arrow next to your name on the login screen.
  2. Click "Shut Down" and let the Chromebook power down completely.
  3. Wait 1 minute.
  4. Turn power on, and log on.
Note: Over the summer 2023, the DOE did a reset on student passwords. If you had changed your password from the default, it was reset to the default. See the librarian if you do not remember the original password.
