Technology Survey

Aloha Kealakehe High School students and families! We know these are confusing and difficult times, and while we try to make plans for the ongoing education of our students we need information about what technology is available at home for students to use. KHS administration and staff do not expect everyone to have access to technology as we know that it is not always possible and that some people choose to limit the use of technology at home. Please answer as honestly as possible in order to help us decide the best way to allocate resources to our community.

E-Books

Although the school library is closed until April 7, students and faculty may still check out e-books and audiobooks absolutely free from the comfort of home (or the beach) at any hour of the day or night. The simplest way is to use the Sora app. Download the app to your mobile device, or visit https://soraapp.com on a computer. Add the “Hawaii State Department of Education” as your school, and use your student (or employee) ID number as your username. No password is necessary. Then search through the thousands of available choices and get reading! No need to worry about forgetting to return your book; it will return itself automatically on the due date. If you start reading on one device and then switch to another device, your books will sync up so you can pick up where you left off. And if you have a public library card, you can also add the public library and expand your choices. Try it out!
