Kite Runner Essay Prompts

  1. Baba says, "There is no act more wretched than stealing" (Hosseini 18). In a well-designed essay, discuss how this attitude shapes his life and the life of his son. Support your thesis with details from the novel.
  2. Discuss kites and kite running as symbols. Provide specific examples from the book to support your ideas.
  3. Most of the characters, major and minor, wrestle with guilt. Compare the guilt of three or more characters. How do they express it? How do they deal with it? How do they purge themselves, if at all? Be sure to cite specific incidences from The Kite Runner.
