Description
 Spanish is a year course graded as two individual semesters, Spanish 1A, and Spanish 1B. Each semester earns you a half credit. Spanish 1 is a beginning course to learn the language, geography, and culture of Spanish speaking countries.

This course is designed for you to communicate by speaking, reading, writing, and understanding written and spoken Spanish. You will learn to communicate in everyday situations through dialogues, oral presentations, projects and group activities.

Spanish 1 credits will meet the foreign language college admission requirements. It is recommended that you take 2 to 3 sequential years of Spanish if you are  thinking about going to college.

You and a partner are going to be assigned a Unit and Lesson. You are responsible for creating an infographic. The infographic must contain review information about the vocabulary and grammar content within your unit and lesson.  You may use the templates provided free from the website piktochart.com or if you are artistic and love to use a lot of color… you have the opportunity to make a freehand one. If you choose to use piktochart.com you must sign up, and you can do so with your @khswaveriders.org gmail account. Your infographic must contain, but not be limited by, all vocabulary from your unit lesson, grammar lesson 1 and 2 with examples on how to apply each unit. (50 points)

Dia de los Muertos short Project. 

Dia de los muertos is not a celebration of death, but a celebration of those that lived and impacted our lives. Remember a family member/friend/influential person that has passed away and honor them with the following:

1. Decorate the sugar skull with their favorite colors and significant designs. Write a reflection about why the person you chose is important to you and tell me how your designs represent the person that you are honoring. In your reflection answer the following questions:
Does your family or community have a special day or specific traditions to remember the deceased? If so what is it? How do you remember the deceased?
How are they similar or different from the traditions of Día de los muertos?

*cut and paste decorated sugar skull mask onto your reflection paper. If typed: half page single spaced-12pt font, if handwritten: 1 page, single spaced.

2. Find a picture or representative image/artifact of the person that you would like to honor. Write a reflection about why the person you chose is important to you, explain what things you do to remember this person. In your reflection answer the following questions:

With your partner select at least 2 characters from the internet that you would like to use for the dialogue.Create a dialogue between your characters that uses at least 3 elements from the preliminary chapter, 3 elements from lesson 1, and 3 elements from lesson 2.Create a PowerPoint presentation with at least 10 slides. 1st slide should introduce the students working on the project, the characters, and short explanation on why you chose those characters. Slides 2-4 should address dialogue from the preliminary lesson, slides 5-7 address dialogue from lesson 1, and slide 8-10 should address dialogue from lesson 2 and make sure to include a farewell. Slides must include the written portion of the dialogue.
