Good Morning WaveRiders

(introduce yourselves)

Today is Friday, February 10th, 2017.

Next week is a A/B schedule with school starting at 9am and no school for students on Thursday, February 16th for teacher institute day.

Hey WaveRiders! What are YOU doing this weekend? If you don't know what to do, then don't worry, you can still come to our school's Valentine's Dance tonight from 6 to 10pm in the gym. Just come dressed casual, bring a completed dance agreement and $8 will get you in. Also, bring extra cash for the photo booth and concessions. We will see you there!!

Kealakehe softball will be selling valentines candy grams again today during lunch. Come by and help support your girls softball team. (repeat please)

Attention Freshmen and Sophomores! Are you thinking about going to college, but not sure how to get there? Upward Bound could be perfect for you! This program helps first generation or low income students achieve their dream of going to college.

Picture yourself staying in the UH Hilo dorms and taking college prep courses this summer, with the potential to stay at other mainland colleges in the future. If you're interested in applying, see Mrs. Hong in the counseling office.

Attention Juniors! Are you thinking of going to college? Then you should register for the SAT test on March 11. Registration is done online through your College Board account and the test fee is about $50.

If you qualify for free or reduced lunch, then you need to see Mrs. Davis for a fee waiver. The first deadline is TODAY, so register soon!

Anime Club is currently selling tickets for Krispy Kreme Donuts and an all day petting zoo and pony ride. Krispy Kreme tickets are $12 and the petting zoo tickets are $10, all located at the Ali'i Gardens Marketplace on Saturday, February 18.

Are you interested in Driver’s Ed? If so, our next Lottery Night is going to be February 16th at 6:00 pm in the library. Application packets can be picked up in Q-203 or downloaded from our website. If you have any more questions, please contact Mrs. Aparicio or Mr. Verble.

Attention all members of the "Kia I Aina Kualoloa" program. We will be meeting for our third session tomorrow at 7:30AM. Please make sure to wear long pants, shoes and bring water bottles and writing tablets. Be prepared for anything. We are making cuts this weekend so make sure you attend. For any questions or concerns please see Mr. Harrs in room E-201.

Wiki and lunch today is Asian style chicken, steamed brown rice, whole grain roll, vegetable medley, peaches, fruit juice and a milk.

Next up we have a clip and then itʻll be ohana time

Please finish up your sharing activity for the “Where Iʻm From” poems and discuss grade level business.

You might also want to check your midquarter grades because progress reports come out early next week.

And freshmen, sophomores, and juniors, make sure you finish up and turn in your yellow course request form to your CEPA teacher TODAY

Thanks for watching and have a great WaveRider Friday
