Good Morning WaveRiders

Today is Monday December 19th, 2016.

And it is almost the end of semester 1! Today we have finals in Periods 3 and 4 with a study session in Period 5 after lunch.

Tuesday is Finals in Periods 5 and 6 with a study session in Period 1 after lunch. And Wednesday is for makeups only and the last day of the semester.

Attention Juniors & Seniors! Are you interested in being a youth ranger for the National Park Service? There will be an 8-week training program starting in February that will qualify you to apply for a summer job as a youth ranger at one of the five national parks. You must apply by January 10, so see your CEPA teacher, flyers around campus, or Mrs. Davis for more information on how to apply.

Attention Waverider Baseball! Junior varsity baseball season officially starts December 20th. Practices will run throughout the winter break. Please see Mr. Hansen for details as soon as possible, and please be sure to complete your physical and consent forms. GO RIDERS!

Attention Seniors! It is almost winterbreak, which is the perfect time to work on college applications and finish your FAFSA, if you haven't already. Also, there are some new scholarships on the school website, so check them out. Remember, to get to the scholarships, click on students, then college and career center. Don't be lazy, you gotta put in the work to earn free money!

Hello Seniors- Are you interested in applying for the Kealakehe SCC Sarah Rosenberg Scholarship?  If so, please see Mr. Huitt in D203 or Mrs. Davis in her office to pick up an application. You should also be able to download an application from the KHS Waverider website soon. 

Once again, any interested seniors, please see Mr. Huitt or Mrs. Davis if you'd like to pick up a Sarah Rosenberg scholarship application. Thank you!

Ditch the Workout and join the Party!  Zumba is at Kealakehe High School Cafeteria monday through thursday at 530 to 630 pm and its FREE!! We are the only Zumba Class in Kona that offers Free classes to the community. Bring a Friend, Bring Family member or just bring em all!! 

Your Instructors Randal, Susie, Autumn, Naomi, Riley, Koko and Frank!! are very energetic and give you every style from the globe that you could experience!!  Hope to See you there!

Mr. Harrs and your counselors are now taking applications for the "Kia I Aina Kualoloa" program 2017. This culturally based, place based, Hawaiian studies program will spend eight Saturdays preserving cultural sites, removing invasive species, planting food crops and learning Hawaiian chants, language and songs.

If you are interested in learning more about your home, family and giving back to your community, your participation is welcomed. You will receive .5 social studies credit that can be used to meet graduation requirements or CEPA make-up. Transportation and food are provided. Space is limited. See your counselor or Mr. Harrs today in room E-201.

Wiki and lunch today is turkey ham on a whole grain bun, corn chowder, green salad, pineapple, fruit juice and a milk

Next up is a clip and then the Admin Spot Check. Later Mrs. Weiss will be on to continue the lesson on Kindness
