Today is Friday, September 18, 2015

It's the end of spirit week and hopefully today you dressed up how you think people will dress in the future!

Teachers, please finish up your spirit points tally sheet and get it to Mr Young by 10am this morning

Today we're on a special assembly schedule with 40 minutes for CEPA, 35 minute classes, and an assembly at the end of the day

Next week we have a normal 5 day week schedule and there are only 2 weeks left in quarter 1!

Join us at wiki today for the tin foil robot design contest and at lunch for the schoolwide march

Due to thunder and lightning, the powder puff game has been rescheduled to next Tuesday, September 22. Kickoff at 7. Gates open at 6:30.

Reminder to all students! Tickets for Winter Ball go on sale next week. Tickets are $55 for KHS students and $60 for all others. See the website.

Kealakehe welcomes a new program that allows 9th thru 12th graders to take FREE college courses here on-campus. Most of these courses will also satisfy high school graduation requirements. If you are
interested, contact your grade counselor or Ms Hartney. Your CEPA teacher has a copy of the flyer about the Early College program

Students who are interested in Early College for the Spring 2016 semester are invited to a course selection activity on Monday,Sept. 21 during CEPA in the library. A parent's night informational and application event will take place on Thursday, Sept. 24 at 5:00 PM in the cafeteria. Please contact your grade level counselor if you are interested.

The University of Nevada, Las Vegas visits in the cafeteria during period 2 today. Sign up at Mrs. Hartneys door.

Chaminade University will visit on Monday, Sept. 21 at 8:51, pd. 1 in the cafeteria. This is the only college in the state to offer Forensics and Interior design as well as other majors.

Portland State University visit in the library workroom during period 5 on Tuesday at 1:25

Hawaii Island Landscape Association offers two scholarships for seniors enrolling in Horticulture, Landscaping or Agriculture. Pick up an application from Mrs. Hartney. Deadline is Sept. 30.

Sign up for the PSAT on the counter at Mrs. Hartney's office. This preliminary SAT is the preview practice test for the new redesigned SAT to be administered in March 2016.

Only ninety test books have arrived so sign up soon. Cost is $15 or free/reduced juniors are Free. October 28th is the test date

Are you interested in taking a practice ACT before the October assessment? See Ms. Hartney to get the form to take a free practice ACT test Monday 10/12/2015.

Attention students who need to do picture retakes...they will be taken next Tuesday the 22nd. Letters will go to your CEPA teacher so you know when your photo is scheduled

And seniors, the updated last day to turn in senior quotes, casuals, and baby photos for the yearbook for seniors is TODAY

Quarter 1 PTP and EPortfolio requirements are due Tuesday, September 29. Please make sure you have all the requirements updated and then turn in the pink sheet to your CEPA teacher before the 29th.

Wiki and lunch today is hawaiian style Kalua pork & cabbage, steamed brown rice, lomi tomato, a whole grain sweet roll, pineapples, grape juice and a milk.

Okay, since our school-wide broadcast is still down, the rest of this period will be to get ready for lip sync at the assembly today and to have ohana time
