Aloha WaveRiders!

(introduce yourselves)

Today is Friday, February 1st.

Are you interested in Driver’s Ed? If so, our next Lottery Night is going to be February 7th at 6:00 pm in the library. Application packets can be picked up in G-202 or downloaded from our website. If you have any more questions, please contact Mrs. Aparicio or Mr. Verble.

Seniors know another language besides English? Consider applying for a Seal of Biliteracy to be awarded at graduation. The deadline to apply is February 28. Check out the News Alerts on the school website or stop by the library for more information.

Would you like to compete in the Olympic Martial Art of Judo? If so, meet in the cafeteria TODAY at 3:15 for a pre-season meeting.

Kealakehe’s Got Talent! Auditions for this year’s talent show are currently taking place in Mr. Knox’s room, the band room, during lunch! It’s open to all students, faculty, staff, and admin! Auditions end on February 8th and the talent show is on March 6th!

The student credit union in the cafeteria will now sell discounted movie tickets for $9.00. They do not expire and are cheaper than regular movie tickets! You will need an account with the Hawaii Community Federal Credit Union to buy movie tickets. Have any transactions throughout the month of February to be entered to have a chance to win a free movie ticket!

In the videos today, you’ll see the human cost of making apple phones. You’ll also see a story about one manufacturer who responsibly partners with small family businesses in Nepal in order to make their products in a sustainable way. We hope you pay close attention and build awareness about what being a responsible consumer means.

Thanks for watching and make it a great Waverider Friday!
