Aloha WaveRiders!

Today is Friday, September 21st, 2018.

Willamette College will be visiting our campus TODAY at 9:00 am in the library conference room. If you are interested please stop by.

University of Hawaii at Hilo will be visiting our campus on Tuesday September 25th at 10:15, right after wiki, on the Library Floor. If you are interested in attending UH Hilo, or at least getting information about the UH system, please swing by the the library after wiki.

All right, WaveRiders. Here are a few reminders for spirit week:

1. Points will be deducted for those who rush the gym floor during the lip sync performances. Only those involved in the lip sync are allowed on the floor.

2. Absolutely no banging or swinging of flag poles on the ground. This is a rule for both lip sync and marches.

3. Students may not interrupt the marches of other classes. Let them do their thing.

4. Follow your gut. If you think it may be wrong it probably is.

ASVAB test will be Thursday, October 18 in the library at 8:15. Please sign-up in the library.

The ASVAB test is the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery designed for those planning on entering the military or those wanting to see a measure a of their strengths, weaknesses, and potential for future success.


Aloha Kealakehe Waverider Wahines! If you would like to learn more about goal setting, going to college, or starting your own business, there will be a Wahine Workshop during study hall at the library on Tuesday, September 25th featuring entrepreneurs and career woman from the Kona community. Please see Mrs. Rosenbloom for more details.


The United States Coast Guard will be visiting our campus TODAY during period 4 in the library conference room. If you are interested in the military or even just in getting some information about the opportunities the military has to offer swing by and talk to them. If your family turned in a military opt out form from opening packet at the beginning of the year you will not be allowed to enter. If you are unsure whether or not you submitted that form and you want to talk to the Coast Guard representative swing by the administration office and ask Ms. Tanaka. She has a list of students who turned in the form and are not able to attend the meeting.

Waveriders! The 2019 Yearbook staff needs your assistance to make sure that we fit all that there is to print in this year’s yearbook. Please let us know of any events, games, activities and clubs so that we can provide coverage.

Also this year you can share LARGE and MULTIPLE IMAGES with us via google drive at [email protected]!!!!

November 1, at 8:15, SENIOR CLASS PHOTO in our very own Gym of Dreams
Also on November 1, from 9:00am- 3:00pm are the Underclassmen Portrait Make ups (schedule to be determined)

WAVERIDERS THIS IS YOUR CHANCE AT GETTING PUBLISHED IN THIS YEAR’S YEARBOOK!!! Over the next four weeks capture storytelling photos. Your mission is to take as many as possible that meet each of the following requirements:
1 Tells a story.
2 Is of strong technical quality (crisp, sharp, good contrast, high resolution)
3 Is of photojournalist quality
4 Submit work via [email protected]

Some of the photo categories include a photo taken during a school event, student life photo, bird’s eye view, artistic shot and many more!

Seniors! Submit your senior quote, casual and Keiki photos BY OCTOBER 31 by using the links on the Kealakehe website under the Recent news section

Travelers! The travel club meeting for Spain, France, and Italy is rescheduled for NEXT Wednesday at 6 pm. Again, the travel club meeting will be moved to NEXT Wednesday at 6pm. If you missed the China meeting, please come next week as well.

Are you interested in singing the national anthem for tonight’s football game or next week’s homecoming game? Then see Mr. Vogt as soon as possible to audition.

Wiki and lunch today are Kalua Pig and Cabbage W/ Rice, Lomi Tomato/ Sweet Roll, Pineapple Chunks, Orange, and Roast Pork w/ Gravy
