Aloha Waveriders!

(introduce yourselves)

Today is Wednesday, May 2nd, 2018

Attention Seniors! Are you planning on going to UH Hilo? If so, you should attend the registration help session TODAY, May 2nd during 2nd period in the library. See you there!

There will be an AP Language and Composition and AP Literature and Composition meeting during ELO, TOMORROW, May 3rd in the Library for prospective students.

We will go over changes, summer assignments and reading lists, expectations, projected workload, the contract, and foundational skills in order to be successful.

Please be aware there will be a sign-in sheet and if you do not attend, you will possibly be unenrolled from the class and placed in a regular 11th or 12th grade English class.

There are still a few spots open for this summer's College Prep course. See Young in the SAC office if you want to see a course schedule. The class is free and is now open to all grade levels.

The course meets only three days a week for an hour and a half. Those who complete all assignments will receive a free half elective credit.

Seniors! After listening to your feedback, we have decided to change Senior Awards Night. The new event will be called the Senior Awards and Celebration Banquet.

The event will now be held on May 17 outside on the football field. Heavy pupus will be served and we'll all be sitting at decorated tables. See the website for the menu.

We want ALL seniors to attend - especially those of you who received school level awards such as CTE completers, community service awards, scholarships and other school level awards.

Attention comic book fans! Free Comic Book Day is coming up. Go to the Kailua Kona Public Library this Saturday May 5th from 9am - 4:30pm to pick up a free comic book.

Go in costume between 9 and 11 for a chance to win a gift card. For a list of available titles and more information, see Mr Dahlke in the school library.

The Travel Club is going to Ireland, the United Kingdom and France next summer! See the website for a complete itinerary.

We'll have an informational meeting for all interested travelers and their parents on Tuesday, May 22 at 6:00PM in the library. See Young for questions or more information.

All 9th grade students planning on taking Honors 10th grade English need to come see Ms. Stuart in F302 to grab their summer homework. This needs to be done BEFORE THE END OF THE YEAR.

Attention Bus Riders!!! For those of you returning next school year and will be using Bus Transportation for the school year 2018-2019, New Bus Applications are available for pick up!!

Please sign and return as soon as possible. At this time we will only be collecting applications. Please DO NOT SUBMIT PAYMENT WITH NEW APPLICATIONS.

Payments for next school year can be collected at Registration/Schedule Pick up in July.

Lunch today is popcorn chicken and mashed potato, roasted veggies, peaches, apples, fruit-muffin, and milk.

The price of greatness…

...is responsibility.
