Aloha WaveRiders!

(introduce yourselves)

Today is Tuesday, August 22nd, 2017.

WaveRiders! Run for Homecoming Court! Download your forms and turn them into Young no later than August 28. See Young in the SAC Office if you're not able to download forms and need a copy.

It's time for elections! Voting for Student Council will be held TOMORROW during wiki and lunch in the cafe. All students are encouraged to vote. Visit the website to see candidate speeches and to read their responses to some pretty important questions.

Our first slip and slide is set for this Friday at lunch BUT ONLY if the emergency water restriction is lifted. Should the restriction be lifted, come to school with your appropriate slip and slide gear and get ready to cool off at lunch. Again, we will only have it if the water restriction is lifted.

There are five choices for this year's Homecoming Lip Sync theme! Vote for one now! See the website for the link. As a reminder, you must use your school's Gmail account to vote. See Young if you need to activate your account or if you have trouble voting. We have also opened the nomination process for dress days. Have an idea? Nominate it!

The Kealakehe Girls Softball program will be hosting an after school snack shop TOMORROW, @2:30 at the gym. Hot dogs, chips, drinks and more. Stop by and support your girls softball team.

Key Club, a student led national service organization, is holding a bake sale this Friday during lunch in front of the Library. There will be fresh, homemade cookies, brownies, and juice. There's only a limited amount, so make sure to be the first! All the money goes towards service ventures, so come this Friday and help the cause!

Attention Freshmen! Kealakehe Student Credit Union is sponsoring the $5 to open a new savings account to the first 20 freshmen! All forms are due on September 1st! Pick up a form at the teller station in the cafeteria during lunch!

Want to learn about science and technology with your hands? Do you want to deepen your understanding of engineering or science? Do you want to travel off island and eat really good food? If yes, apply for the robotics program. This year the Kealakehe Robotics team will be hosting crash course seminars to introduce beginners to the world of stem! We are accepting applications to join our internationally recognized team. For more information come to U101 TODAY from 3:30-5:30. Our team meets Tuesdays and Fridays and you can earn credit for your participation. Join us and create your future with Kealakehe Robotics.

Are you interested in Driver’s Ed? If so, our next Lottery Night is going to be August 29th at 6:00 pm in the library. Application packets can be picked up in Q-203 or downloaded from our website. If you have any more questions, please contact Mrs. Aparicio or Mr. Verble.

Attention Juniors and Seniors! Our first college visit is almost here. University of Nevada Las Vegas will be in the cafeteria TOMORROW during 2nd period. Again, that's UNLV, TOMORROW, cafeteria, 2nd period. See you there!

SCHOOL PICTURES ARE COMING!! School pictures for all underclassmen are TOMORROW. Students will go with their English class to the library for pictures. Students bring your forms with payment directly to the photographer. Teachers DO NOT collect order forms. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Pereida in Q-101.
