suit to did women jumpers be included in the Vancouver Olympics it turned out to be another heartbreaking defeat there was a lot of times when I wasn't sure I wanted to jump anymore just seeing a party that she wasn't invited to an she was getting tired of fighting don't like having to be an advocate for the sport I would have rather been an athlete I was very narrow-minded when the women first started fighting but now he's a Believer and he'll coach the first ever US Women's Ski Jumping team at Sochi good morning wait I miss his wife and I'd like to introduce an activity that you're going to be doing in class today hopefully you enjoyed that clip just before me about women's ski jumping and she relates to the activities so what we're going to start looking at is the core ethical values that the deal we presented and we try to touch on these indifferent but in different ways so the particular activity we want to do today and this year is we want to do a vocab building activity with it so hopefully teachers you got an envelope gearbox this morning and basically with the deal he has done and they did this a number of years ago as they just tried to choose maybe about 13 or 14 different values it's actually hard to say how many they chose because they grouped a couple together sometimes but these are values that you would find pretty much in any organization in any spiritual religious tradition in all different cultures throughout the world system X instead of core ethical values we called in the universal ethical values or Universal values and what we're trying to do today is just kind of explore them and look at the definitions and try to get a deeper and better understanding of what the words actually mean and then share with you afterwards a couple things that we hope you guys can do afterwards so what needs to happen is if you can have somebody in the class the teacher is probably a good person to do this open the envelope and in a you should find two different things when you're going to find these yellow strips and on each strip there's a definition of one of the core ethical values just need to get distributed around the room two different students each student each of 12 people should have a different strip make sure you don't have more than one unless your class is pretty small can you might have to double up but basically you just want different people to have the strips and then on the pink sheets which were going to call these cards there's words than these words the name of the actual ethical value and so there's 12 of them in English and if you want to just go with English ones that's okay so maybe teachers if you want you can pull out the words that are in Hawaiian and just use the English ones but if you guys think you're up to it and if you have time towards the end you might the China match the Hawaiian words to see which value they actually go with and hopefully some people in class might actually have a good guess at some of these so if you're just the English ones and you're just using the yellow strips you distribute these around class if you have 24 people it works out perfectly if you have less than 24 you kind of have to maybe some people will have to or something like that and then what you guys are going to do is you're going to get up after we end the broadcast and actually try to find the person that you match with so which pink name of an ethical value mismatches with which yellow strip that has the definition and when everyone in class thinks that they found their match what we'd like to have you guys do is just go around the room and share the name of the value and the actual definition for it and teachers you have all of these instructions on a sheet hopefully you can follow along afterwards and then if you guys have time so you get everybody matched you guys share together all of the definitions and the names of the and if you want to do the Hawaiian one that's great too if you have time after that what we'd like you to do is start thinking about some of the clips that we've been watching so maybe checking o clip on Lee ahee that are school put together or maybe they hiki no clip on the dark room or the issue about no more Vici or the dogs being animals or maybe some of the CNN clip still like the women's ski jump when we just watched or maybe the football player yesterday who didn't have arms and trying to start thinking about what values are actually demonstrated or shown in some of these different clips so just try to kind of brainstorm some of the things that we've looked at and talked about recent NC butt and what values and it's not usually like one clip only matches with one value usually it's an example of a number of the different core ethical values EXO that's what we'd like you guys to do today and then if you have some time left at the end of class it's a good time to have some Ohana time and please just be aware as a heads up that progress what grades are due on Friday of this week so students whatever grades you happen to have at the end of Friday that's what should be printed on your progress report to come out next week on February 15th at 7 a.m. missed Rose has the entry forms and m103 or see any of the wafer I try club members it's 50 that's a small price to pay for love as well as my health I guess I'll see if Russell loves me or loves me not I am going to find this dress right now can you put come find me or girlfriends to come too I am looking for Shuffle 5K Denver dance videos hello Wave Riders we are the tiki text robotics team here at kalakeya high school if you don't what's in today we're here to talk about our robot as you see right here now one thing that's interesting I just wanted to say real quick is that when you join the robotics team they're men turn aspects to our team and I'm usually not one to fabricate or build this robot but just the other day I got the opportunity to drill these holes to make the arm lighter than I thought that was really cool person we're now in week 5 of our six-week built isn't we only get 6 weeks to build this this is our our most challenging competition of the season is called FRC and so who actually picking up a large 2 ft in diameter medicine ball and this is the contraction of a robot that we've built to accomplish that this is the progress that we've made how far are you can see this is our our intake arm right here and these wheels over here you guys can sorta see them or actual we're going to be what we use to pick up the ball Addison coming here is going to shoot and it's not were going to play this year's game. Talk about Electronics okay so this year we built to robots and ones go AR practice bought and ones for competition so far practice bought instead of having that big bulky processor that it needs is called a cereal and to use that you need to boot computer every time and load up all the software onto it every single time you want to run so for practice for the sake of being able to just flip a switch and start running around and driving in everything we're using a small Vex cortex which is much smaller like this and all you have to do is turn it on and has a wireless connection to a controller what way Canada like spiced a few cables and everything we have everything running off of that instead so on the real bought we can use that big bulky cereal that's competition legal but for practice can you shout the offseason we could just run around with that should be a lot easier another thing that we're really excited about is our 3D printer some of you have actually and I'm one of the biggest challenges for us has been connecting Motors to axles that we can make things move and make all of our parts do what they need to do and so the 3D just making it really easy for us this year or a little bit less challenging because how long is to actually print out hubs you guys actually it was it was in the in the cafeteria a day or two ago and some of the actual got to see it was it's really fun we're very excited to have it okay and that's about it for now now we're going to show a video of our week for Progress so thank you I am Jessica Shawnee I'm 18 years old and I am a senior this week I'm working on electronics sound recording foods are strangers like are robots Brian can our power distribution board with sense power significant other more by the end of the week I would like to have our board fully finished and ready to go and I also like to have the robot driving by the end of the week sub trade and I'm Virginia preparing for chair trans when the engineering inspiration award  Crazy Kitchen and I excited and ready to Jackson and stuff that's my baby grabbing her life Michelle Oliver LG cocoon last piece that I wanted to say this morning is to give a recognition to the science Bowl team turn off and talk about science what would that's been going on for a long time and you see up on the monitor now the gentleman that that went to represent the science Bowl team we want age women in science and so you know we want to encourage we've had women and young ladies on the science Bowl in the past but I just happened to notice it I was the names that they're all they're all young men so we want to we want to build this interest in science especially ladies inside so it'll get involved with dr.
